Wood, Plaster, Un-fired Slip. 2013. Ceramic Metal Arts Building, Seattle, WA

Expansive Restraint is about holding opposing experiences simultaneously and finding spaciousness within limitations. Because the path of travel is narrow and restricted and the installation is fragile and delicately assembled, the piece invites mindful engagement and careful movement. It creates an atmosphere that is binding and oppressive, while at the same time lovely and vulnerable.
